Name: Christopher A. Rothbauer, but my friends call me Chris
Major: Philosophy and English with a writing concentration
Year in school: Junior
Hometown: Jeffersonville, Indiana
High School: I went to Jeffersonville High School but dropped out my senior year. I finished up my high school studies at Reisz Adult Education Center in New Albany and earned my GED with honors there.
Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy reading, studying philosophy, hanging out at coffee shops and breweries (I absolutely love a good German lager!), keeping up on current events through newspapers and BBC podcasts, writing poetry and fiction, and listening to music. I am addicted to itunes, to my checking account’s dismay. I also am addicted to crime dramas, especially Law & Order, CSI, Cold Case, and Without A Trace.
Favorite thing about IU Southeast: As a student stuck in a weird phase where I’m technically classified as a non-traditional student but I still feel like and relate to the traditional students, IU Southeast has been extremely supportive in both roles. The Adult Student Center has been a wonderful resource for realizing I’m not alone and the traditional students have embraced me with open arms. My professors have been very supportive and offered guidance whenever I need it, and I now even count some of them as friends.
Superpower I want: The ability to read professors’ minds. That and the ability to talk to fish. Who ever said Aquaman wasn’t cool?
Celebrity I’d most like to share an apartment with: Living I’d have to say Bob Dylan. We could jam all night while he rambled on about his philosophy in life. Dead I would definitely say Truman Capote. The man was an amazing writer and person who was all too human.
Food I can’t live without: Cottage cheese. Laugh if you want, but it’s been one of my favorite foods as long as I can remember. My mother claims she ate it while she was pregnant with me.
Biggest pet peeve: People who can’t look you in the eyes and tell you what they really think about you. Just be honest!
