Indiana University Southeast

Living On Campus

Experience Living By the Lake.

IU Southeast has entered a new chapter in its illustrious history. Beginning in fall 2008, you can make IU Southeast your home when it becomes the first and only public university in Southeastern Indiana to offer on-campus residential housing to its students.

The first phase of building will bring five residence halls to campus, and will house more than 400 students. Additional phases are planned for those who want to get the complete college experience.

Located at both ends of the lake, just west of the academic buildings, the lodges will be clustered to promote a neighborhood feeling. They will be within easy walking distance of all academic buildings and will feature additional parking areas.

Housing Designed for You.

Designed to resemble lodges near the lakeshore, these residence halls will be lively places to live college life to the fullest. The lodges are designed to facilitate a strong sense of community and promote student interaction and success.

Rather than the conventional style with rooms opening onto a single corridor, the new lodge-style apartments are planned around a central living room. Each lodge will have a large, open community space where students can relax, study and get to know one another.

Bedrooms will be clustered around a center living room. Depending on your needs, you may choose from three different layouts:

  • Four bedrooms (single occupancy), two baths, living room and full kitchen
  • Two bedrooms (double occupancy), two baths, living room and full kitchen
  • One bedroom (single occupancy), one bath, living room and full kitchen

A Life Less Ordinary.

Forget the conventional college dorms with long, boring hallways. These apartment lodges have the latest floor plans, giving you privacy when you need it and lots of activity when you want it.

Go in to your room to do homework, or gather in the center living room to talk or play video games. Each lodge has a large, open community space with a fireplace, soft seating, and large screen TV where students can relax, study and get to know one another. The lodges will also have study rooms, a computer lab, and on-site laundry facilities.

The lodges will be fully wired for technology, including a data port per resident and wireless internet, and feature full kitchens
